What a summer!
I spent the summer working as an Understudy for Mrs. Van Buren in "Intimate Apparel" at Northlight Theatre and for Paulina in "The Winter's Tale" at Oak Park Festival Theatre.
I am currently training in Meisner pedagogy with Green Shirt Studios and have deeply enjoyed being back in a classroom.
On the other side of the stage, Theatre EVOLVE is ramping up pre-production for our main stage show"Krugozor!". We are so excited to bring this brand new work back after being shuttered in March 2020. The remounted production will open on January 13th, 2023 at the Factory Theatre. Stay tuned for details!
We also launched our new "Hot Mic Night" series, featuring performers of all kinds doing, honestly, weird stuff. The next performance will be on October 21, 2022 and the theme is "Smuggling, Thievery, and the Underground".
Born and raised in Steamboat Springs, CO, Mary Eliza started performing at a young age with a bucket of dress up clothes and the family piano. She continued performing throughout her life, attended the Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts Camp for three summers, and graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a BFA in Theatre Performance. Mary performed both academically and professionally in the Denver/Boulder area before moving out to Chicago, IL, where she is currently living. She's been featured with Babes with Blades Theatre Company, The Black Ensemble Theatre, and Theatre EVOLVE, among others.
Mary especially enjoys Shakespearean and classical theatre, period style work, as well as new play development. She reads avidly, and has recently discovered empanadas and cold brewed coffee, which is pretty neat.
